Jaymon Briggs

Hi I’m Jaymon. In my family sport has always been important whether we’re playing or watching. Some of my happiest memories, friends and connections have been made through sport.

I have been exposed to a variety of sports throughout my childhood including cricket, hockey, AFL, volleyball, golf, netball, indoor cricket, basketball, swimming, and rowing. However, I finally settled on field hockey and cricket. I now play seniors hockey in my club’s top side and was previously a part of Hockey WA’S state academy. I played district cricket for Mount Lawley for a number of years and played a T20 final at the WACA. I have been teaching swimming since 2021, as well as working as a volunteer hockey coach and I have found these fun and rewarding. The key motivator for me is seeing participants engaged and finding confidence and enjoyment through sport because so many skills are transferable to life.

I joined ACE Active Supports in 2023 and have had the opportunity to coach a range of children and young adults. In the sessions I have been working on building their confidence and preparing them to join a team. At ACE we have a lot of connections to sporting clubs and our goal is to make sure everyone has the confidence and basic ability to enjoy sports just like all the coaches here at ACE.
